At Level Up Gym, we pride ourselves on keeping our trainers accountable for clients’ progress. Without a tracker, how are we supposed to know what our clients have done in past sessions?
Does it mean trainers without an iPad is inferior?
Of course not! However, we strongly believe in taking charge of our clients’ progression, particularly when it concerns reps, sets, and exercises. We firmly believe in making progress every day, and the most convenient way to achieve this is by using an effective and reliable tracker like Trainerize, benefiting both trainer and client.
How do we track?
Short answer — progressive overload.
Ready for a more detailed explanation? Here it is: we can progress in many ways, but the most crucial is by consistently increasing demand over time. To simplify, we ensure our clients improve by at least one rep or by extending their range of motion by one centimeter each session. Progress can mean doing one extra rep or achieving one extra centimeter of range of motion in each set.
Conclusion
Whether it’s an iPad, phone, or any device capable of installing a tracker—be it Excel, third-party software, or a notebook—it will suffice. As long as you remember what you're doing and what areas to focus on for improvement next time, I personally believe you are well on your way to success in your fitness journey.
This is particularly critical for beginners. If you would like to learn more about tracking and progressing your training, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at Level Up Gym, one-north.
